Annual Meeting & Presentation of the Max Templeman Memorial Scholarship

The Kiwanis Club of Pearl Harbor held its Annual Meeting to elect the 2023-24 Officers and Directors. We presented two 2023 Max Templeman Memorial Scholarships to Carly, Immediate Past Komohana LTG, and Reiko, Immediate Past Secretary of the Waipahu Key Club. Congratulations to both deserving young leaders. Best wishes to them as they continue their education and service.

Kiwanis One Day Project - Genki Ala Wai Project

The Kiwanis Club of Pearl Harbor held its Kiwanis One Day Project on Earth Day. We partnered with the Genki Ala Wai Project and assisted with their community event. Our volunteers helped community groups make and toss genki balls into the Ala Wai Canal as part of an on-going bioremediation program. We assisted with the testing of the water as well. The goal is the make the Ala Wai Canal swimmable and fishable by 2026. Genki Hou! To Thrive Again.

Komohana DCM

April 15, 2023

The April Komohana DCM was held at the Aiea Hongwanji Mission from 2p-5p. The SLP were able to take home at least one succulent planted in a mug/cup. Pearl Harbor Director Kathryn Lau provided the succulents for this activity and shared her knowledge of the proper care for these types of plants.

General Meeting & LTG John Buck's Official Club Visit

Kiwanis Division 22 LTG John Buck did his Official Club Visit with Pearl Harbor. Thank you LTG John for sharing upcoming events and reviewing your division goals with us. We also made 28 genki balls. In keeping with getting our hands into dirt, Carol prepared dirt cups with rich oreo chocolate filing and gummy worms!

Key Club HCON

March 18, 2023 @Damien Memorial School

2023 Region 18 Key Club Hawaii Convention was held at Damien Memorial School. This was the first in-person HCON since 2019. It was one day filled with workshops, team activities, service expo, talent show, awards, speeches and a dance!!! Makai Key Clubbers from Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island flew to Oahu to join fellow SLP from Hikina and Komohana.
